Dusting off some awards

My blogging friend/high school compadre Julia sent me an award that she had received from my blogging friend/high school compadre Charla! Then I remembered that I too have received an award from Charla and never completed my assignment nor did I ever pass the torch so I'm dusting off my awards and giving them the appreciation they deserve!

Julia passed the torch of Passionate Blogger and with that I am to tell you what I find myself being passionate about:

1. My Inner Circle - This includes several people: family that I was born with as well as family that I make. It takes a lot to break the mold and be in my inner circle but once you are in you are in for life. I've always kept my circle tight; you'll never see me with 500 friends on Facebook, I only follow a handful of people's blogs and in the same sense only a handful of people know about my blog. I thank God all the time for these wonderful people in my life and couldn't imagine living life without any of them.

2. The Next Generation - I do not have kids... yet. But that does not stop me from seeing the importance of the little ones that I'm surrounded by. From my two nephews and Chad's two nieces, my god child who has yet to come into the world, all the way to the neighborhood kids, the light they bring to my life is overwhelming. They all make me want to be the best inspiration that I can be. I use them as lessons for my own children and I think I learn more from them than they could ever learn from me.

3. Growth - I truly believe that growth and change are soooo important for everyone. I'm a true believer in trying new things and allowing your mind, heart and soul to grow. I think the day that you refuse to grow you might as well be writing your own eulogy. I am so thankful for the singleton portion of my life where I learned so much about myself and was amazed by my own strengths. And now I am thankful for my coupledom portion of my life where I'm constantly learning and growing as a partner. I look forward to learning and growing as a wife and especially a mother. I'm sure it will be one big eye opening journey!

4. Chad - This brings me to the man in my life. I know I am blessed because God brought me someone better than I could have ever imagined for myself. Chad is what I like to call a bad boy with a heart of gold. He never will admit that he has a soft heart but he sure can't hide it. From restoring an entire house, to lifting each other up in the most difficult of times, to adventures we create for ourselves in our own back yard, I couldn't imagine having a better friend by my side.

5. Honoring my Father's memory - My dad. I'm not even sure where to start on this but nobody has been a bigger inspiration in my life than him. What I didn't realize is what a big inspiration he was to everyone else. What stings is not that he will never be able to meet my children but that my children will never fully understand what a wonderful grandpa they have. So this is my job to honor him, inspire others with the lessons I've learned from him and allow his legacy to live on.

Now on to the next award!!!

Here are the award rules:
1. List 7 things that make you Awe-Summm and then pass the award on to 7 bloggers you love (sorry, I don't even know 7 bloggers)
2. Make sure to tag the recipients and let them know they have won!
3. Also link back to the Queen that tagged you

So here is what makes me Awe-summm:

1. I'm a good friend/daughter/sister/aunt/girlfriend. Or at least I sincerely try to be.

2. I'm a total smart ass - some people do not see this as awesome but I do so just go with it.

3. I'm an anti-dramatic. I hate drama, never liked it and avoid it all costs. Most men find this to be awesome.

4. I'm a damned good cook! And I'm getting better with every meal. Watch out Paula Dean!

5. I am good at my job. Feel free to ask anyone at SFA if they get scared when I call them. Just kidding, I love my cardholders! Except when they screw up!

6. I always try to find the fun in life! Life is fun so live it up!!

7. I am surrounded by awesome people and that makes me awesome!

Since there are only two other blogs that I follow I'm passing these both on to them:

Sarah - I love your blog, you find a way to make me laugh and cry all at the same time!

Sami - I love getting glimpse into your life, you have a beautiful family. PS you need to update your blog anyway!
