For the love of Layla Grace

Hello fellow bloggers!

I want to share with you a story that has melted my heart and hit closer to home than I thought. Yesterday I stumbled upon a website for a furniture/clothing store called Layla Grayce. Within this website there was a story of a little girl that shared the same name as the store except she spelled her name Layla Grace.

Little miss Layla is a precious 2 1/2 year old from Cypress, TX that was in a battle for her life against Neuroblastoma, which is one of the most common cancers found in children. Normally, this cancer can be treated if found soon but unfortunately for Layla this was not the case. This precious baby left this earth to fly with the angels this very morning.

The reason I felt that this was so close to home was that I noticed that she was being treated at Texas Children's Hospital, the very hospital that my best friend Kami works at. Kami works in the Children's Cancer Unit which to me gives her an automatic golden ticket to heaven. I emailed Kami last night and asked her if she knew this little girl. Kami responded that she in fact did get the pleasure of knowing Layla and that she always had a giant bow on her head, loved getting pulled in her wagon around the hospital and came from a great family. But she also said that it's so amazing that I asked because everyone was talking about this little girl, even Ryan Seacrest!

This little girl and her precious family were not only in a battle for Layla's life but were also fighting to spread information about Neuroblastoma in an effort to save other children lives. Right now Layla Grayce the store (which has beautiful stuff) is donating proceeds of certain items to Layla's family to help with the insurmountable medical bills as well as sending part of the money to Texas Children's Hospital for cancer research. I suggest you take a look at some of the adorable things they have there:
